The main event for UFC 108 has been announced. Opening the year 2010 will be Anderson "The Spider" Silva, defending his UFC Middleweight belt against fellow Brazilian, Vitor "The Phenom" Belfort.

Silva, the reigning UFC Middleweight champion, has won eleven consecutive MMA fights, the last ten being in the UFC, including huge victories over Rich Franklin (twice), Dan Henderson, and Forrest Griffin.

Belfort, coming off of his impressive first-round knockout victory over Rich Franklin in UFC 103, is looking to be the guy who ends Silva's long title reign and be the new UFC Middleweight champion.

UFC 108: Silva vs Belfort will be on January 2, 2010 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The date is set for UFC 105. On November 14, 2009 in Manchester, England at the Manchester Evening News Arena, hall-of-famer and former UFC World Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight champion Randy "The Natural" Couture will be returning into the octagon to face a very tough and hungry Brandon "The Truth" Vera.

Both Couture and Vera saw action in UFC 102. Couture lost a unanimous decision to Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, in the fight which won Fight of the Night honors, while Vera displayed a dominating performance against Krzysztof Soszynski, winning every round of their three-round fight.

Also trying to bounce back from a loss is Michael Bisping, who was knocked out by Dan Henderson in UFC 100. He will be facing Canadian Dennis Kang on one of the main cards of UFC 105.

UFC 106: Lesnar vs Carwin is coming your way on November 21, 2009 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Headlining the main card will be UFC World Heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar (4-1) defending his world title against undefeated and number one contender Shane Carwin (11-0).

The other half of the main card will feature former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz (15-6) taking on UFC hall-of-famer and the first ever UFC Heavyweight champion Mark Coleman (16-9).

Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (17-3) will also be in action against fellow Brazilian Luis Arthur Cane (10-1), while John Fitch (19-3) faces fellow American Ricardo Almeida (11-3).

UFC 104 is set. Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida will be defending his UFC World Light Heavyweight belt against number one contender Mauricio "Shogun" Rua on October 24, 2009 in Los Angeles.

Machida became the new Light Heavyweight champion when he defeated former champion and previously undefeated Rashad Evans earlier this year. The Japanese-Brazilian fighter is still undefeated in MMA (15-0), and has yet to lose a single round in his UFC career.

Many say that you don't become a champion unless you successfully defend your title, and it will certainly be a test for Machida when he defends his belt for the first time against former Pride champion Shogun.

Shogun became the number one contender for Machida's title when he defeated UFC hall-of-famer Chuck Liddell last April.
